It is narrated to Hazrat Ali (R. A) that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said: When the 15th night of Sha'ban comes, you should stay up at night, recite the Nawafil and fast during the day.

Imam Ahl-e-Sunnah says:
Allocation of Halwa Shab Barat. This allocation is customary and not obligatory. Yes, if an ignorant person knows that he will not be rewarded without sweets, then he is at fault.
